Laura Dames

Laura Dames is the Executive Vice President of Ad Sales Marketing for WarnerMedia. In this role, Dames oversees all News, Entertainment, and Portfolio Marketing and Brand Innovation for WarnerMedia Ad Sales including its branded content studios, Courageous Studios and House of Max. She is responsible for WarnerMedia’s brand strategy and marketplace image and oversees the creative marketing services that illuminate WarnerMedia’s brand ethos at marquee industry moments, including the company’s Upfront. Part of the company for nearly three decades, Dames brings thought leadership, rigor, insight, creativity, and media industry expertise to drive marketing and creative strategy across the division. She is based in Atlanta and reports directly to JP Colaco, President of Advertising Sales for WarnerMedia.

Formerly the Executive Vice President and General Manager of WarnerMedia Studios, she led a studio team with a broad range of creative and technical capabilities, including production, design, emerging media, social media monitoring, content generation, and live events including the company’s annual Upfront, NCAA events, NBA All-Star Weekend and more.

Under Dames’ leadership, WarnerMedia Studios transformed into an innovative, central hub for media assets across the company, responsible for collaborating with more than 150 partners across 40-plus business units throughout all company divisions – including HBO Max, TBS, TNT, truTV, Bleacher Report, Cartoon Network, CNN, Turner Classic Movies (TCM), and Turner Sports.

Dames ascended to several leadership roles in the first two decades of her career within the Turner Entertainment Networks division, excelling in business and marketing operations. She also previously worked on the ad sales team, where she implemented the Marketplace Image department and contributed to portfolio-wide sales strategy.

She currently serves on the Women in Cable Television Southeast Advisory Board; is the executive sponsor for the Atlanta chapter of Women of WarnerMedia, a corporate resource group dedicated to the advancement of female executives; and a member of She Runs It, of which WarnerMedia is a Silver Level Corporate Alliance partner. Additionally, Dames is an active member of the Georgia Screen Entertainment Commission Steering Committee. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a certificate in film studies. Dames is a member of the Alumni Advisory Board for the University of Massachusetts Department of Communications.
