Laurie Freeman

Laurie is Director of Finance for Turner Sports. Turner Sports produces the NCAA’s March Madness Tournament, the PGA Championship, MLB and NBA sporting events for the TNT, TBS and truTV networks. Turner Sports also operates BleacherReport, NBATV, NBA.com, NCAA.com, and PGA.com. Laurie leads the consolidated budget and forecast reporting for Turner Sports and oversees the financial management of the NCAA March Madness Collaborative Arrangement with CBS, the NCAA.com and PGA.com league ventures, and Turner Sports marketing. Laurie is also responsible for the financial modeling, analysis and integration of new businesses within Turner Sports and supported the recent completions of the 2016-2025 NBA on TNT renewal and eSports venture with WME/IMG.

Laurie has been with Turner for 14 years.  Prior to joining Turner Sports in 2013, she held positions with increasing responsibilities with Corporate Finance, the Business Improvement (BI) Group, and Corporate Segment F&A.  While with Corporate Finance Laurie was responsible for leading the financial analysis and due diligence processes for corporate and divisional initiatives including new business ventures, acquisitions, divestitures, and equity investments.  Laurie played an integral role in the acquisitions of BleacherReport and Chilevision, and investments in FreeWheel and istreamplanet.

Laurie’s BI role provided the opportunity to collaborate in an advisory role with senior management across Turner.  While with BI she learned valuable skills including: program and project management, change management, and process analysis, design and re-engineering. She led efforts supporting the integration of Turner’s domestic traffic system and financial systems.

Laurie has a Masters and undergraduate degree in Accounting from Auburn University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
