Leah Altman

Leah Altman is director of ad sales marketing for Food Network and Cooking Channel in New York City.  She plays a pivotal role in the idea generation, creation and pitching of marketing partnerships and multi-platform deals for some of the network’s biggest ad sales clients.  Altman’s leadership qualities and ability to fully understand both client- and agency-side needs has led to a multitude of successful partnerships.  Her efforts in leveraging Food Network’s culinary and programming expertise to help garner new business have driven significant ad sales revenue for Food Network and Scripps Networks Interactive’s other lifestyle media brands.

Prior to her promotion to director in 2009, Altman was Food Network’s ad sales marketing manager.  It was during this time she was accepted into Scripps’ fellowship program and served as head of AisleFile.com, a 3-month trial launch that was part of Scripps’ new venture program.  She was responsible for the creation, execution and evaluation behind the venture, and handled lead generation, media planning and buying across multiple platforms, site and vendor management, and performance analysis.  The experience allowed Altman to gain a much greater understanding of business operations from the client side of marketing.

Altman began her career at Scripps in 2002 as ad sales marketing assistant for Food Network.  She was promoted to ad sales marketing coordinator in 2003 and in 2005, to ad sales marketing manager.

An active member of Women in Cable Telecommunications’ (WICT) New York Chapter, Altman has been selected for the 2011 spring session of WICT’s Rising Leaders Program.

Altman received her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Penn State University in 2002, where she graduated magna cum laude.
