Lisa Chang

Lisa Chang is senior vice president of human resources at Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.)  In this capacity, she leads wide-ranging human resources support for the company’s Technology, Strategy & Operations division, which includes Turner Strategic Planning, New Products, Corporate Development, Network Operations, Turner Studios, Technology Development and CNN Systems, Technology and Engineering.  Chang also oversees all human resources activity supporting TBS, Inc.’s International division and its employees in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.  Chang is based in Atlanta at TBS, Inc. corporate headquarters and reports to Loretta Young Walker, the company’s chief human resources officer.

Chang joined TBS, Inc. in June 2009 from The Weather Channel Companies, where in the previous 11 years she held ascending human resources and operating roles, ultimately serving as executive vice president of human resources for the approximately 1,000-person Weather Channel workforce.  She was vice president of human resources for weather.com, helping establish it as a stand-alone business, and vice president of desktop weather for The Weather Channel Interactive Inc., leading the team responsible for developing desktop and other platform weather products, and directly responsible for associated revenue initiatives.  Earlier in her career, Chang was a human resources executive with Riverwood International and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

She is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a bachelor of arts degree in communications and earned an MBA at Mercer University’s Stetson School of Business & Economics.  Chang is a Certified Compensation Professional and a member of World at Work.  She is president-elect of the board of directors of the Cable Telecommunications Human Resources Association (CTHRA) and founder and chair of its Human Capital Benchmark Survey committee.  She also serves on the board of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and is a past board member of The Emma Bowen Foundation, Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics (LEAP) and the Asian and Asian Pacific Alumni Network of the University of Virginia.  Chang is a Betsy Magness Leadership Fellow and the recipient of the National Association of Multi-ethnicity in Cable’s (NAMIC) Luminary Award and WICT Atlanta’s Woman to Watch Award.
