SVP, Consumer Marketing & Media Strategy National Geographic Channel
As Vice President of Consumer Marketing & Media Strategy, Lisa Clark is responsible for leading the development of strategic and effective consumer plans, including on-air, digital and off-air strategies that drive consumer awareness and tune-in to NGC and Nat Geo WILD programs and leverage all network platforms (linear, digital, VOD, Español, HD, etc.) in order to support the channel’s ratings goals.
Clark leads the development of all media plans (off-air, on-air and digital) for key programming initiatives, including the recent campaigns for On Board Air Force One, Alaska State Troopers, Border Wars and Locked Up Abroad. She oversees and develops strategy for marketing engagement elements; spearheads digital marketing activities across the company; integrates NGC and Nat Geo WILD plans and priorities with Fox Cable Affiliate marketing in Los Angeles; and leads the team in utilizing and enhancing existing technology and acquiring new technology that will help achieve marketing objectives.
Prior to joining NGC, Clark was the Director of Media Planning and Interstitial Strategy at TV Land/Nick at Nite (2005–2006) in New York City, where she created and implemented media plans designed to increase awareness of and drive ratings to the networks’ original programming.
From 2002 to 2005, she was the Manager of Media Planning and then the Director of Media Planning at Spike TV in New York. Clark developed media plans for launches of original programs such as “The Joe Schmo Show” and “The Ultimate Fighter,” and designed a system for tracking and evaluating campaign performance. She also created an initiative to monitor the branding strategies of competitive networks.
From 1997 to 2002, Clark was the Senior On-Air Planner, and then the Assistant Manager, Program Planning, at Home Box Office in New York, where she supervised on-air promotions for HBO and HBO Multiplex channels.
Before joining HBO, she was the Director of Development, Motion Pictures, for Motown (& Uptown) Entertainment (1994–1997), and Executive Director of the Black Filmmaker Foundation in New York (1993–1994).
Clark received her B.A. in television production from Howard University.
