Lisa McBee-Granados

In her own words…

“As a trusted and dedicated Chapter servant, I direct and support WICT Chapters, 24/7, by bringing stakeholders together to share ideas, information and to triumph over challenges.  A lover of my virtual network, I champion change and value individuality and uniqueness of style. When out of my cage, I enjoy walking, writing/watching horror films, hanging out with my WWE gang and working outdoors with my family in West Virginia. I also crave road trips and extensive travel with my husband, Walter, and precious new baby daughter, Athenae Alexis (born on October 7, 2010).

Lisa McBee-Granados is WICT’s Senior Director of Chapter Relations.

Lisa McBee-Granados is WICT’s Senior Director of Chapter Relations. Lisa grew up in the tranquility of the Blue Ridge Mountains, but now calls West Virginia “home” as most of her immediate family resides there. Lisa loves all types of music and, while in high school, began her early career as an On-Air personality for a small, local radio station in Waynesboro, Virginia. She graduated from Radford University with a BA in Speech Communications with an emphasis on Radio/TV. While at Radford, Lisa hosted several radio programs including a Rock and Bluegrass hour and also worked behind the scenes for the WVRU nightly news program. After graduating, Lisa worked briefly at an ABC affiliate in Harrisonburg, Virginia, as a Production Assistant but was quickly offered a position as Broadcast Technician for Radio Marti as part of the Voice of America in Washington D.C. While at Radio Marti, Lisa received numerous commendations for her pre and post production work on Spanish-language programs and promos which broadcast daily to Cuba and Latin America.

From there, Lisa moved into the world of satellite communications with Intelsat Ltd., also in Washington D.C., as a Satellite Space Coordinator and Supervisor for an award winning, 24/7 Customer Service department. While at Intelsat, she was chosen to be one of three employees to represent her company at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, and helped to secure over 6 million dollars in video leases. Her last two years at Intelsat Ltd. were spent driving new product initiatives as a Senior Program Manager, working across the board to ensure project understanding and completion. Lisa’s most challenging work came during her employment with the National Headquarters of the American Red Cross where she was hired to implement, expand and sustain a nationwide and readily available call center known as the “Response Center Network” during the unprecedented 2004 Florida Hurricanes and, most notably, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005.  Most recently, Lisa was employed as a Senior Manager for a VOIP-based service, Lingo Inc., affiliated with Primus Telecommunications in McLean, Virginia. While at Primus, Lisa managed a dedicated team of Customer Care, Service Delivery and Tech Op professionals, and virtual call centers in India, Canada and Iowa.

Lisa has traveled extensively and has written various screenplays for film as she hopes to someday accept an “Academy Award” for best original screenplay. Lisa, Walter and her beloved Athenae live in Springfield, Virginia.
