Lorelie Johnson

Lorelie Johnson is currently the Senior Manager of Corporate Communications for Bright House Networks.  Johnson manages the company’s integrated communications strategy, and works with the communications team to connect news and information on Bright House Networks’ products and services for both residential and business customers.  Day to day, Johnson communicates company-wide with multiple markets and departments.  She provides direction on social media, messaging to employees and customers as well as support on multiple projects including internal announcements, new products and services and industry issues and trends. 
 
In 2006, Johnson received her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB) for having exhibited an exemplary standard of character and demonstrating a high level of competence in the practice of public relations. 
 
Prior to Bright House Networks, Johnson was the Community Relations Director for the Salvation Army in Orlando.  For five years, she coordinated all media relations, partnerships and awareness campaigns throughout the Central Florida market.  In addition, she served on three Disaster Relief Teams as the Public Information Officer and as the Emergency Operations Center Liaison.
 
Johnson’s professional experience also includes working in fundraising, specifically on capital campaigns, as a Development Associate and Public Relations Specialist for WPO & Associates; and as a Public Relations and Special Events Coordinator for the Otis F. Smith Foundation, an organization committed to serving children in need throughout the Jacksonville area.
 
In 2010, Johnson served as Chair of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Sunshine District Board which includes working with all PRSA chapter leadership throughout the state of Florida. In addition to serving at the state level, Johnson has served locally as the Orlando Regional Chapter President, Assembly Delegate, Vice President of Membership Retention and at the national level as a member of the Volunteer Leadership Task Force.
 
Johnson is also a member of the Association of Cable Communicators (ACC).  As a member of ACC, she has served on the Beacon Awards Committee, Forum Planning Committee and as a first round and final round judge for the Beacon Awards.  She is a 2008 Beacon Award Winner for the work on the Publicity campaign around the launch of YOU ON DEMAND.
 
Johnson has her degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and Journalism from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.  She serves on two boards including the Salvation Army of Orlando and the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Central Florida.  In addition, she volunteers for Orange County Public Schools and to the local Women and Children’s Shelter as a member of the Women’s Auxiliary. 
 
Along with being a full-time public relations professional and an active volunteer in the community, she enjoys journaling, reading and playing soccer. Her husband and their daughter live in Longwood, Florida.
