Marisa Shipley is a dedicated people leader for over 15 years. Currently, she is a Curriculum Manager with Charter Communications, Customer Operations Learning & Development. In this role, Marisa collaborates and works to gain consensus across multiple lines of business to develop large-scale training programs. Marisa successfully leads a team of Instructional Designers who she encourages to achieve both professional and personal growth.
Marisa began her career in the childcare field – teaching and growing others. As a classroom teacher, she developed empathy for those who have the responsibility to care for our youngest children. Marisa managed a local childcare chain and opened two successful childcare centers. She also worked for the state of North Carolina, as an Infant/Toddler Specialist developing modules of training materials and conducting training for childcare providers in five counties.
While working at Coca-Cola Consolidated, Marisa became passionate about onboarding and recruiting. As a Learning and Development Manager, her duties included developing and delivering new hire training, recruiting, and providing support to the contact center.
Marisa holds dual degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Early Childhood Education and Dance. She also studied at Central Piedmont Community College, earning Human Resources certifications.
Marisa lives in Charlotte, North Carolina but is a Florida girl at heart, who loves being on the water. When not working, she can be found cheering on her beloved Carolina Panthers or playing with her dogs – Baylee and Jax Marisa still finds time to volunteer with several local non-profits in the Charlotte area.
