Meeka Bondy

Meeka Bondy is senior vice president, Legal Affairs, for Home Box Office, Inc., responsible for legal matters pertaining to HBO Enterprises, an entrepreneurial business unit charged with distributing HBO’s original programming to television networks and digital platforms around the world. She was named to this position in April 2013.

Bondy joined HBO as a senior counsel in March 2004. She was promoted to vice president & senior counsel in September 2007, and named vice president, Legal Affairs, in May 2010. Previously, she was at Time Warner Interactive Video Group, Inc., where she was vice president, Legal Affairs, from January 2002 to February 2004, functioning as general counsel for Mystro TV, a start-up funded by Time Warner to develop and commercialize a networked digital video recorder and on demand cable television service. From March 1998 to December 2001, she was an associate counsel at Time Inc., responsible for legal matters in the new media, information technology and Business 2.0 (a technology and business magazine) groups.
Bondy also worked as an associate (September 1994-March 1998) and summer associate (March 1992-August 1992) at Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner LLP, the first computer law firm, where she handled legal matters for a variety of companies in the media, financial services, technology, cable and telecommunications areas. She began her career at PC Magazine as an assistant, supporting its national advertising and sales representatives.

She has published articles in the New York Law Journal, Multimedia & Web Strategist, Entertainment and Sports Lawyer and the Brooklyn Journal of International Law, and has delivered speeches and lectures at the Practicing Law Institute, The Copyright Society of the USA, New York Country Lawyer’s Association, Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the School of Visual Arts. She is a frequent panelist and speaker at Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) leadership programs, and has served as a mentor with Prime Access, WICT NY’s executive mentoring program.

Bondy has a BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Brooklyn Law School. She is executive sponsor for MOSAIC, the Asian-American business resource group at HBO, is a member of Asia Society’s Global Talent and Diversity Council, served on the board of the New York chapter of WICT, and is an alumnus of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute, Class 22. She is a founding member of AIM (Asian Americans in Media) and a founding secretary of Future Now Media Foundation. She lives in New York City with her husband and three children.
