Megan Canavan

Megan Canavan was named Chief Financial Officer of The Style Network in July 2011, after Comcast and GE completed their transaction creating a joint venture consisting of NBCUniversal businesses and Comcast’s cable networks, regional sports networks, and certain digital properties. Canavan oversees the network’s finances, including the development of Style’s strategic and long-range planning. She also is responsible for identifying growth opportunities aligned with the network’s business objectives.

Since 2007, Canavan served as Vice President, Finance for NBCUniversal in the NBC News division and was responsible for Financial Planning & Analysis for the division and helped drive growth in new business initiatives. Canavan joined NBC News in 2006 as Director, Financial Planning & Analysis and was promoted to Vice President in 2007.

Prior to NBC News, Canavan had worked at MTV Networks in various consolidation and operational finance roles at Nickelodeon Entertainment Group and MTV Networks Corporate. She began in 1998 as an assistant and was promoted through the ranks to the ultimate role of Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis & Corporate in 2005. She led the consolidated planning, reporting and analysis for MTV Networks from 2003-2006. Canavan began her finance career at Virgin Interactive Entertainment, based in London, England.

Canavan holds a Masters of Business Administration degree, with honors, in finance and marketing from Fordham University in New York and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in international business and Spanish from Loyola University in Maryland. She is a graduate of the prestigious GE Experienced Financial Leadership Program. Canavan is based in Los Angeles.
