Meghan Ballantyne

Meghan Ballantyne is Director, National Accounts for Scripps Networks Interactive’s Affiliate Department.   In her role she manages the distribution, retention and contract negotiations with Verizon FiOS, independent affiliates, aggregators and transporters for Scripps’ lifestyle media brands – HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Cooking Channel, Travel Channel and GAC – and their respective HD and VOD channels.  She’s also exploring distribution opportunities for Scripps in the hotel, airlines and cruise sectors.  

Ballantyne began her career at Scripps Networks in 1997.   In her first stint with the company (1997-2001), she held various positions in the Affiliate Sales department, focusing mostly on maximizing distribution for the Scripps’ brands in the Northeast.  She returned to Scripps in 2005 as a Regional Manager and was awarded Sales Person of the year in 2006.  Since then she was promoted to Account Director and consistently exceeded sales and media value goals for Scripps Networks. 

During her time away from Scripps Networks, Ballantyne lived as an expat in Paris, France for three years (2001-2004).  She worked as a representative for Going-there, a global relocation company and volunteered to chair various expatriate programs.  After heading back to the United States in 2004, Ballantyne served as Account Manager, Affiliate Sales for Oxygen Media. 

Ballantyne is heavily involved with cable industry associations.  She currently serves as Secretary for Cable Television Association for Marketers’ (CTAM) New York chapter, and has been on the chapter’s board of directors since 2007.  Ballantyne previously served on the Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), New England executive board from 2005-06 and currently is a chapter member of WICT New York, Philadelphia and New England.

Ballantyne graduated with honors in 1997 from Hamilton College (Clinton, N.Y.) with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies.  She also studied abroad at the University of London, Queen Mary campus, and studied French at the Alliance Francaise in Paris.

Ballantyne lives in New York City with her husband, Garth, and two children, son Colin and daughter Avery.
