VP, Distribution Strategy & Planning Warner Bros. Discovery

Melissa Diaz is vice president of Distribution Financial Planning and Strategy for Warner Bros. Discovery. In this role, Diaz is responsible for creating financial and operating plans including monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range plans related to the company’s satellite and telecommunications accounts, virtual MVPDs, and HBO Max wholesale distribution, as well as overseeing the Reporting and Expense team. She also provides financial analysis for distribution deal negotiations, assesses business and financial data and trends, performs analytical evaluation of economic impacts, and provides strategic direction and recommendations to guide the distribution business. She is based in Atlanta. 

Diaz first joined Turner in 2006 as a senior receivables analyst. Throughout her tenure with the company, she has worked in both the distribution planning and strategy group for the Turner content distribution group and for Turner Entertainment Networks. Diaz has been a member of Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT) for more than 20 years, where she works to support the advancement of women both professionally and personally. She has participated in WICT’s Rising Leaders Program and has previously served as WICT’s Atlanta Chapter Treasurer and Secretary. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Kennesaw State University.
