Melissa Morningstar is the Warehouse Supply Chain Manager at Comcast Cable supporting the state of Michigan. In her 20-year career at Comcast Melissa has worked in various roles including Internet Technical Support, Regional Security/Loss Prevention and Warehouse/ Supply Chain. She started in the warehouse on the frontline and was recognized for her attention to detail, organization skills and work ethic. It was with this reputation she built came the opportunity to join the Regional Security/Loss Prevention Team. As a Loss Prevention Inspector Melissa started to grow her leadership and professional skills working on and leading special projects and investigations. When she was ready for her first leadership role, she naturally looked to the Supply Chain where she became a Supervisor. Melissa thrived and enjoyed her experience leading as a Supervisor for the Processing, Packaging & QC, as well as the Service Center Driver/Receiving Teams. During this time, she was able to hone her management skills and develop her management style. When a new opportunity presented itself to advance Melissa took the leap and accomplished her goal of becoming Warehouse/Supply Chain Manager.
Part of what makes Melissa unique to her role is her knowledge of the company and department at multiple levels. She believes it is important to roll up her sleeves and get her hands dirty occasionally to maintain an understanding and connection to daily operations so she can lead that operation with confidence. She enjoys getting into the details utilizing her trouble shooting skills to maintain organization, workflows, and maximize efficiencies. Melissa has continued to focus on her management style and communication skills participating in ADKAR Change Management training. A skill in which she applied to a recent reorganization and Smart Locker Project that she successfully executed in 2020/2021.
In her spare time, Melissa enjoys staying physically fit participating in 5K Races and running challenges. Her goal this year is to complete a 10K Race! She was born and raised in Michigan and currently resides in Royal Oak, MI.
