Michelle Bailey is Vice President of Corporate Market Research at BET Networks (BETN). She has been with BETN for 9 years, and was instrumental in creating the Program Research department and branding market research as critical for decision making. Michelle supports senior executives in Research, Programming & Scheduling, Development, Corporate Communications, Business Strategy, Marketing and Sales keeping them abreast of trends in television media along with any changes in audience viewing patterns, through the use of Nielsen Media Research data. Her team’s analysis and recommendations have helped drive the company toward unprecedented audience growth for several years. She also uses modeling tools to facilitate in the decision making of programming and acquisitions deals for the network. And, she provides key research highlights to Corporate Communications and Marketing which have been used in national print media to further showcase the network not only as the #1 Cable Television destination for African Americans, but also as a top Cable Television contender within the general market landscape.

Michelle is a native of Nashville, TN. She holds B.A. in Economics with a Marketing concentration from Spelman College, where she received her alma mater’s most prestigious honor, the Spelman Alumnae Achievement Award. She is also a graduate of the University of Southern California (USC) where she earned an M.B.A. in Marketing with a Certificate of Completion in Entertainment Management as a McCabe Fellow. She is the Public Relation Chair for The Links, Incorporated Arlington Chapter, a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), a lifetime member of the National Black MBA Association, the INROADS Alumni Association, the National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), the Spelman Alumnae Association, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Xi Zeta Omega Chapter.
