Miriam Luciow

Miriam Luciow is VP of Production and Development for Viacom International Media Networks – Americas, where she supervises the production of original programming for all of the company’s networks, including MTV and Nickelodeon.

In her role, she evaluates proposals, develops formats, creates engaging characters and story arches, oversees castings, budgets and production calendars to create compelling content. She is responsible for all aspects of production for new programming, from concept to air. Miriam works closely with Programming, Creative, Marketing, Communications, Business Affairs and Sales, spearheading each project’s strategy.

Miriam was the Supervising Producer for Nickelodeon Latin America’s Grachi during its three seasons and over 200 programming hours.  The series’ international success led to the commission of an English language version for Nick International, which resulted in the creation of four successful seasons of the spin-off Every Witch Way.

Other successful productions for Nickelodeon under her tenure include Skimo, Isa TKM, Isa TK+, Sueña Conmigo, Miss XV, 11 11, en mi cuadra nada cuadra, Toni la chef and Talia in the Kitchen.  Miriam also produced several MTV specials, such as the Charly Garcia MTV Unplugged, MTV Sports and MTV News specials including the Beastie Boys, Café Tacuba and Gustavo Cerati, among others.

Previously, Miriam worked for Discovery Communications as Creative Manager, overseeing Discovery Kids, and as the General Producer for the People+Arts channel, a BBC and Discovery joint venture.

She started her career at Univision Networks as a writer for a daily magazine/talk show and later worked on the network’s daily live national newscast.  It was then, after being exposed to both sides of the business, entertainment and news, that Miriam discovered her true passion for production and the entertainment industry.

Miriam was born in Caracas, Venezuela where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising.  In 1990, she moved to Miami with her husband and is the proud mother of twin girls.
