Misty Skedgell

Misty Skedgell is a senior executive level communications professional with demonstrated expertise in a full range of corporate communications functions, including media and talent relations, messaging, crisis management, integrated product launches, events and community outreach. She is currently principal of Skedgell Communications. 

 

Previously, Skedgell served as senior vice president of corporate communications for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.).  In this role, Skedgell led teams responsible for protecting and enhancing the brand of Turner Broadcasting, including Communications/Digital (employee communication, digital platforms, media relations); Corporate Responsibility (employee engagement, volunteer programs, philanthropic giving, sustainability, government and community relations); and Turner Image (presentations, photography, retouching, digital asset management, corporate identity). 

 

Previous roles at Turner include vice president of corporate communications and corporate responsibility; vice president of corporate communications, with PR oversight of Turner Network Sales; vice president public relations for TBS Superstation; director of awards and event planning for TBS, Inc.; director of publicity for TNT; director of program publicity for CNN PR; and various roles related to unit publicity and program publicity for TBS Superstation and TNT.

 

Skedgell is a member of WICT and is a Betsy Magness Leadership Institute fellow. She is a former co-chair of the NCTA Public Affairs Committee and executive committee member of ACC. She is on the board of Junior Achievement of Georgia, and is a member of the 2010 class of Leadership Atlanta. She is also the Posse Foundation’s 2013 "Power of 10" honoree.

 

Skedgell earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Georgia.
