Rebecca Brown

Rebecca Brown is the Director of Community Investments at Comcast in Oregon & SW Washington.   In this role, she is responsible for the development and implementation of local philanthropic efforts, including sponsorship, grants, special event and nonprofit partnership opportunities.  She also oversees the company’s annual national initiatives, working to engage employees and amplify the community investment stories internally and externally, growing the business by helping build positive perception of the Comcast brand. During her tenure, Rebecca launched the first Beyond School Walls workplace mentoring program in Portland, in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters and also developed and implemented the region’s "You Give. We Give." employee grant program. 

 

Rebecca started working for Comcast in the summer of 2005, where she started out in Marketing as the Marketing Communications Coordinator before transitioning to the External Affairs team.

 

Prior to Comcast, Rebecca enjoyed serving as the Marketing Director of Georgia Square Mall in Athens, GA.  She was responsible for all aspects of mall marketing including budget management, sales campaigns, media buying, promotions and special event planning.

 

Although Rebecca is a true Oregonian, she spent several years on the East coast.  She is a graduate from the University of South Carolina Upstate, obtaining a B.A. in Communications, where she played collegiate volleyball.  She still has yet to give up the sport, actively participating in the Portland Volleyball Association. Rebecca and her husband Hosheman have three children, Kennedy (7), Kameron (4) and Quinn (1), who keep them running around and young at heart.
