Renita Griskel is the Director of Emerging Media Content at Discovery, Inc. She manages production operations for the Knoxville, New York, and Broadband teams within the Reloads Group in Discovery Creative and Production. The content created through these teams air on Discovery Inc. networks and on internal and external multi-media platforms.
Prior to her current role, she led a team of Interactive Media Specialists and was responsible for managing the production of online short form content for Discovery brands and external partners. She also created targeted content for Discovery apps and network social media sites.
Renita’s contributions to multiplatform brand campaigns supported Discovery initiatives, digital and social media teams and international brands. In her 15 years with Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI) and Discovery, Inc., Renita has also led production for Video On Demand and In Store Programming content. Videos produced under Renita’s supervision were distributed to various leading big box retail stores and service outlets nationwide.
Prior to joining SNI in 2006, Renita was an Executive Producer at WEWS, the ABC affiliate news broadcast station in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. She has written and produced several long form non-news programs and has more than 25 years of experience in the broadcast industry.
Renita enjoys mentoring and volunteering, she has participated in several mentoring programs with Discovery and The WICT Network. She is an active member in industry and community organizations including The WICT Network where she served as the 2020 president of the Southeast Chapter, winning Chapter President of the Year and Chapter of the Year. She has worked with National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), and is a member of National Coalition of 100 Black Women (NCBW).
Renita completed The WICT Network’s Rising Leaders Program, and she is the 2017 recipient of The WICT Network Southeast Red Letter Rising Star Award for Emerging Leader. She has B.A. in Communications from John Carroll University and lives in Knoxville, Tennessee.
