Ruth Dawson

Ruth Dawson is Vice President of Engineering, Comcast Video Software in Comcast’s Technology and Product Development group (T+PD).  As Vice President of Engineering, Ruth’s responsibilities include overseeing the design, development, test, deployment and ongoing support of products and applications for the interactive television side of Comcast’s business.  She is responsible for several engineering teams across a variety of software products.  Her teams include both onshore and offshore (India) team members. 

Prior to joining Comcast, Ruth was Senior Director, Engineering with MetaTV.  In this role, Ruth managed engineering, program management and customer support teams.   She focused on building world class software products as well as building innovative engineering teams.  She helped to shape the product strategy as the company shifted out of startup mode.  MetaTV was acquired by Comcast in 2005.

Ruth Dawson has over twenty  years in software technology in several industries.  Ruth has been in the cable technology sector for the past eleven years .

Ruth lives in the San Francisco Bay area.  Her interests include sailing, gardening, motorcycling, pilates and hiking with her two German Shepherds.  She attended the University of Toronto majoring in Computer Science.
