Samantha Cooper secures distribution for all of MTV Networks, BET Networks and the newly launched EPIX service with national distributors as SVP of National Accounts for Content Distribution and Marketing.
Sam is responsible for developing and implementing strategic relationships with major cable operator like Time Warner Cable, Cox, Charter and Cablevision. While building distribution for a number of networks including TV Land, Comedy Central, MTV2, CMT, Logo and BET, she has also negotiated deals involving long term carriage of Viacom’s core brands as well as online content, video on-demand, HD and other new and emerging platforms.
During her 13 years at MTV Networks Sam has been a strong advocate for the company’s brands, and a powerful force behind its expansion across cable and satellite. During her tenure, the company has grown its domestic portfolio from four to 29 channels that now reach more than 95 million subscribers nationwide.
Prior to joining MTV Networks, Sam worked at both the Food Network and CTAM corporate headquarters. She holds a Bachelors of Science from University of Florida and currently lives in Pelham, NY with her husband and two daughters.
