VP, Business Operations Turner Content Distribution
Shannon Ponsell is Vice President, Business Operations for Turner Content Distribution (TCD), the network distribution arm for Turner. She has oversight of the sales operations, systems operations, IT, contract administration, and office services departments. In this capacity she sets the strategic direction related to systems, information, infrastructure, and business operations. Additionally, she leads cross functional projects and develops and implements process improvements to further the business goals of TCD as well as its affiliate partners.
Shannon joined Turner in 1988 in the former Turner Home Entertainment division. Prior to her current position at TCD, she served as Director of Sales Operations for Turner Network Sales (TNS) where she was responsible for leading a team that provided operational support to the affiliate distribution, ad sales and marketing departments. In this role, she developed and implemented processes and established relationships that ensured efficiencies and consistencies in their operational procedures throughout the organization. Shannon’s previously held positions at TNS were director, contract administrations, northeast and southeast regional operations director and regional operations manager, central region.
During Shannon’s 28 years in the industry, she has been an active member of multiple industry organizations. She is a member of Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT) and actively participates in their Peer to Peer and college mentoring programs as well as served on the WICT SE Board. She is a member of Women in Technology (WIT). Additionally, Shannon is an active member of Turner Women Today’s Business Resource Group, where she serves on the Board.
