Sharon Peters

Sharon Peters joined Charter Communications as Group Vice President, Marketing, in 2016 and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing in August 2020, overseeing all customer acquisition, upgrade and retention, marketing communications, marketing and sales enablement, database marketing, media and sponsorships and direct marketing for the company’s residential and Spectrum Business products and services. In June 2021, Ms. Peters’ responsibilities were increased, assuming leadership of the full marketing function, adding oversight of marketing & creative services and digital marketing to her previous purview. She helped oversee the successful launch of the Spectrum brand when Charter’s transactions with Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks were completed in 2016, as well as the launch of Spectrum Mobile in 2018, the nation’s fastest growing mobile provider for five consecutive quarters. She is also driving Charter’s digital adoption initiative to ensure customers can engage with employees and utilize company products and services through the platform of their choice.

Prior to Charter, Ms. Peters worked for Cablevision Systems Corporation (currently part of Altice USA), where she held multiple marketing and programming roles of increasing responsibility spanning two decades. As Vice President, Media and Original Programming for Cablevision, she was responsible for driving the marketing strategy and optimizing results across all online and offline media channels. She also simultaneously served as general manager for two original programming channels, MSG Varsity (now News 12 Varsity) and the Optimum Channel.

Ms. Peters is actively involved in a number of industry associations, including the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing’s (CTAM) MSO Marketing Co-op Board, for which she served as board vice chair in 2018-2019, and chair in 2019-2020. She is a graduate of CTAM’s Cable Executive Management program at Harvard Business School, as well as the WICT Betsy Magness Leadership Institute. She is also deeply committed to the professional development of her employees and serves as current co-chair of the Spectrum Women Business Resource Group.

Ms. Peters has also received industry recognition for her marketing leadership efforts. In 2020, she was named as one of Cablefax’s Most Powerful Women; she was also named to Multichannel News’ 40 Under 40 list in 2014.

Ms. Peters received her B.A. in communications from Villanova University, and an executive management certificate from New York University. She was also recently sponsored by Charter to attend the WICT Senior Executive Summit at Stanford University in 2021. When not working, Ms. Peters enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
