Sharon Welgoss is a Senior Manager of Business Operations at Comcast Cable working within the Marketing & Sales Department. In this role, Sharon manages the finances for the new Xfinity Stores that are being constructed across the country. Although this is a new role for Sharon, she has been with Comcast for over 7 years and has held several different positions. Her Comcast career started in 2006 when she was a consultant assisting the Corporate Accounting and Reporting team. Sharon later accepted a permanent role as a supervisor on the Corporate Accounting and Reporting team. In this role, she worked with the Accounts Payable team to ensure that the vendors constructing the Comcast Center were paid timely, as well as working with several top executives with presenting financial results. Next, Sharon took a position in the field as a Business Operations Manager. She managed several different departments, including Accounts Payable and Customer Service representatives in the Greater Philadelphia area. Sharon interacted with customers and technicians on a daily basis and became a change agent, as the industry and business needs frequently changed. Sharon then went on to become an Accounting Manager in the National Accounting Operations group. During this role, Sharon was given the opportunity to work on many different projects, which included creating workflow documentations for the team. She worked closely with several West Division offices and acted as a liaison between the field staff and Cable Headquarters.
Prior to joining Comcast Cable, Sharon worked in public accounting in the Philadelphia Suburbs area after she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Gwynedd-Mercy College.
Sharon has been married to her husband, Ray, for 8 years and they reside in Berwyn, PA. They have a beautiful 5 year old daughter and a 2 year old foster son, whom they are hoping to adopt. In their spare time, they enjoy vacationing with family and traveling. Sharon has volunteered at many Comcast Care Day events and has been the lead at some of the volunteer locations. She also volunteers at many WICT events with the Greater Philadelphia Chapter. She enjoys volunteering because it gives her the opportunity to work with many different people and make new friends.
