Sheri Gates McGaughy has recently left her position as Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs for The Weather Channel, LLC and has opened her own law firm. Her clients include The Weather Channel and other companies in the cable industry. She focuses on media, privacy, trademarks, domains, television and digital advertising, and deals involving technology, websites, mobile apps, distribution, licensing and international issues. Sheri is an alumna of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute, served as President of WICT Southeast, and was honored to receive the Chapter’s Red Letter Horizon Award for Woman to Watch. She is a member of the 2015 class of Leadership Atlanta and is a long-time Girl Scout leader. She is a Trustee at her church and is involved in mission work in Nicaragua. Prior to The Weather Channel, she was Assistant Vice President at ChoicePoint Inc. and its predecessor, Equifax Insurance Services, worked for a large national law firm, and clerked for Judge Joel F. Dubina on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Sheri received her J.D. and her B.B.A. in Management Science and Information Technology from The University of Georgia. She is married and has a teenage daughter.
