Silvia Moreno is the Software Development Manager within the Technology & Product team of the Comcast-NBC Universal family. She is currently leading a team of engineers focused on developing the web, mobile and X1 clients for Comcast’s next generation Internet platform, xFi. Her team is striving to provide a better-connected home for their customers through offers like whole-home Wi-Fi, visibility into data usage, parental controls and security settings for the gateway, and iOT devices integration. Silvia is focused on driving her team to deliver a high a quality product while collaborating with all of her partner teams and providing air cover for her team of engineers, who love to focus on coding and inventing.
Before joining her team as a manager, she was the acting technical leader for several endeavors including Comcast’s in-house Speed Test interface and oversaw Research and Development for Customer Experience. She was also part of the small team who architected and started the xFi project that she now manages.
Silvia was born in Bogotá, Colombia and moved to Philadelphia in 2010 to pursue her Master’s Degree in Computer and Information Technology at the University of Pennsylvania. Previous to completing her MS she graduated with a Chemical Engineering and an Industrial Engineering degree from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá. She now owns a beautiful row home in South Philadelphia where she lives with her fiancé, Daniel.
