Sonya Lewis is the Manager of External Reporting for the Cable Division at Comcast Corporation in Philadelphia, PA.
A cable industry professional for over 5 years, Sonya joined Comcast in 2009 as a Senior Accountant in Cable External Reporting, progressively advancing to her current leadership role within the organization.
In her current role, Sonya is responsible for leading a growing team that prepares and provides key information to Comcast Corporate, in order to assist with the preparation of the company’s financial statements and disclosures for Comcast’s quarterly and annual filings with the SEC. Sonya is also responsible for leading her team through the Cable division’s monthly financial close process, as well as performing the Accrual to Cash Adjustments (ACA) analysis which is a key metric used for determining the Cable division’s Free Cash Flow. The Accrual to Cash Adjustments process includes the preparation and presentation of an annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and a Long Range Plan, which are reviewed and approved by Cable Executive leadership. All aspects of Sonya’s role require communication and collaboration with the accounting and finance teams throughout both the Cable division and Comcast Corporate.
Sonya graduated with honors from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA with a B.S. in Accounting and Information Systems and received her M.S. in Accounting from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. Prior to joining Comcast, Sonya began her professional career in public accounting, working in the Assurance practice at Ernst & Young, LLP in Philadelphia, PA.
Sonya resides in Wayne, PA. In her spare time, Sonya enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family and friends.
