Stephanie Thames

​Stephanie Thames is the Sr. Director of Programming for Turner Classic Movies. She oversees the programming for TCM’s linear and digital schedules. She also manages the programming workflow for the FilmStruck streaming service.

 

She is responsible for programming TCM’s high profile months of 31 Days of Oscar and Summer Under the Stars. This includes the selection and placement of 350 plus titles per month. She also programs the majority of TCM’s primetime schedule, including themed monthly festivals such as Star of the Month and TCM Spotlight.

 

In addition, she is a programmer for the TCM Classic Film Festival. A four day film festival that takes place every spring in Los Angeles, the TCMFF brings together classic movie stars and TCM fans for more than 80 films and special event programming.

 

Stephanie came up through the ranks at Turner. She began her career as a temp in 1998 and was hired fulltime by TCM in 1999 as a Programming Coordinator. She was promoted to her current position in 2017.

 

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Arts from the Grady College of The University of Georgia and an M.A. in Communications from Georgia State University.

 

Stephanie is based in Atlanta and enjoys traveling in her free time.
