Director, Ad Sales Marketing Scripps Networks Interactive
Swapna Podlich has served as director of ad sales marketing for Travel Channel and Great American Country (GAC) since April 2012. In this role, she is responsible for creating and executing custom and turnkey marketing solutions for clients to help drive incremental revenue and generate new business. She also collaborates closely with clients, agencies, and with internal and external key stakeholders to offer unique integration and cross-platform opportunities to help advertisers connect with the networks’ valuable audiences.
Prior to this position, she served as director of ad sales marketing for HGTV and DIY Network from 2009-12 where she managed implementation of ad sales efforts for the HGTV’s largest tent poles including HGTV Dream Home, HGTV Green Home, HGTV Urban Oasis and HGTV Design Star; each of these programs integrated multiple sponsors across cross-platform touch points. She was also responsible for concept development and execution for program integration, custom short form and talent-driven platforms for some of the network’s largest advertisers.
Swapna was selected as a mentee for the WICT Mentorship Program in 2009 and received the Unsung Hero Award at HGTV in 2010. In 2011, she was selected to participate in Scripps Networks Interactive’s Foundations of Leadership Program.
Before joining Scripps Networks Interactive, Swapna was the director of ad sales marketing of Current Media, LLC, and manager of digital media marketing at ESPN. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in political science and minor in economics. She currently resides in New York City.
