Symphonie VonRippon is a Manager of Legal & Business Affairs at A+E Networks. In this role Symphonie drafts and negotiates merchandising, publishing and other licensing agreements for lucrative brands under A+E Networks such as "Duck Dynasty" & "Dance Moms." Symphonie is also part of the Intellectual Property legal team where she is involved with global clearances and trademark portfolio management for all ten networks under the A+E umbrella. Symphonie serves as the point person for digital takedown request from all business groups at A+E Networks and works with outside counsel to prosecute domestic and international trademark applications and service the A+E Networks global portfolio.
Symphonie started her career at A+E Networks in 2008 in the Rights & Clearances department managing the rights for international sales of programming content. In 2011 Symphonie transitioned into drafting and negotiating deals as part of the Consumer Products legal team. Last year Symphonie expanded her role by working with the Global IP Counsel to protect A+E Network’s vast trademarks and brands.
Symphonie received both her undergraduate degree in English and her law degree from Howard University. Symphonie is a member of various organizations such as WICT, NAMIC & LIMA. Symphonie volunteers at the local Food Bank and other charitable causes through A+E Networks. Symphonie currently resides in Harlem with her daughter.
