Tamara Bowens

Tamara Bowens is Group Vice President- SMB Sales & Retention Spectrum Business.  In this role, she has responsibility for developing and implementing strategies designed to meet and exceed revenue and sales goals for the SMB client segment. In addition, she is responsible for partnering with the Marketing team to create targeted offers and messaging that drives new client acquisition, up-selling and churn reduction.

In her previous role as Group Vice President- Field Marketing & Sales Enablement Spectrum Enterprise, Ms. Bowens had responsibility for the internal and external event strategy including sponsorships, trade shows, and client entertainment assets.  Ms. Bowens also oversaw the sales enablement functions, including sales coaching, systems and tools adoption, recursive learning and sales communications that supports 1000+ professional sellers.

Ms. Bowens joined Charter Communications as Vice President- Field Marketing via its merger with Time Warner Cable.  Prior to that, she served as Senior Director- Customer Lifecycle Marketing & Experience at Time Warner Cable Business Class where she was responsible for management of the end-to-end small business customer lifecycle including onboarding, revenue generation via cross-sell & up-sell, retention, customer engagement & customer communications.

Prior to joining Time Warner Cable Business Class, Ms. Bowens held senior level marketing positions with Cingular Wireless, GMAC Insurance, The Dawson Company, and First Data, with functional responsibilities that included branding, customer relationship management (CRM), product marketing, new technology development, and external affairs.

Ms. Bowens holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Texas-Austin and an MBA from Harvard Business School.  She is also a graduate of the NAMIC Executive Leadership Development Program Class XV and the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute Class 37.  In addition to being actively involved in numerous cable industry organizations, she is also the recipient of many awards including the NAMIC Next Generation Leader Award, CableFax’s Most Powerful Women and Most Influential Minorities in Cable.  Ms. Bowens is also an avid art collector and a philanthropic supporter of various arts institutions.
