Terri Thompson

Terri Thompson is an executive search consultant who brings nearly 20 years of corporate work and executive search experience to Carlsen Resources, Inc.  Her distinguished corporate background across multiple disciplines allows Terri to bring unique perspectives and insights to her clients’ organizations.  Her consultative style and constructive approach, specifically in the digital media and marketing fields, have resulted in many superior placements lauded by both client and candidate alike.

Terri developed her expertise in the cable television industry where she spent 16 years with Cox Communications, Inc.  As vice president of marketing for the industry-leading cable company, Terri provided direction to the corporate staffs for sales, advertising, marketing, new product development, customer service and direct broadcast satellite lines of business.  Prior to that, she garnered extensive experience in key positions in product planning, strategic field marketing and management.  Early in her Cox career, Terri was a member of the cable franchising team that successfully secured agreements with local governments granting the company authority to offer services.  She brings this broad business experience and personal executive management skills to each of her client interactions.

Throughout her successful career, Terri has been passionate about the development of women’s business skills and leadership abilities.  This interest led her to a deep commitment to Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), where she has held the position of national president of the organization as well as head of the WICT Foundation.  Terri has been recognized for her leadership expertise by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, who named her as one of the top 10 Business Women, and by the Atlanta Chapter of WICT, who named her Woman of the Year.  Terri also harbors a deep interest in children’s issues and her local community. She has held a number of leadership roles within Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.   She was co-chair of the Friends organization, a fundraising, volunteer and special projects arm of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She currently serves on the Community Board. 

Terri is a double graduate of Emory University, where she holds both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in business administration. 

Terri lives in Atlanta with her husband and daughter.
