Vicky Rocco

Vicky is a creative and versatile Human Resources professional with over 20 years of experience in the Entertainment industry.  As an HR Generalist for Viacom Media Group, she provides support for each of the company’s West Coast groups (MTV, VH1, LOGO, Ad Sales, MTS, BALA etc.)  She functions as a consultative business partner to Senior Management on issues affecting their particular brands, including leadership, employee relations, employee retention, conflict resolution, compliance, performance management, compensation, organizational effectiveness and organizational restructuring.

Born in Scotland, raised and educated in South Africa, Vicky started her international business career in the Travel Industry in Johannesburg, South Africa.  In the early 1990’s, she immigrated to the USA, where she was recruited by The William Morris Agency to join their HR team.  She grew her career with companies such as Orion Pictures, MGM, and Fox Studios before landing at Viacom in 1998.  Once there, she played a key role in helping to establish the HR function for their new West Coast Headquarters.  Vicky has worked side-by-side with a widely eclectic group of professionals from the talent agencies, movie studios and TV networks, and has ‘honed her skills’ in the fine art of providing an HR function to the creative community.  She’s built a brand of HR that is viewed as a valuable resource by her peers, and has positioned her as someone who is approachable and trusting.  She is passionate about what she does, is a catalyst for change, and champions the employee for the good of the company.

Giving back is a priority in Vicky’s life. Together with her two daughters (Emily, 19 and Chloe 16,) their commitment to community service and fund-raising activities, has led to involvement with various philanthropic organizations, including the National Charity League, the ALS Foundation, Therapeutic Rec of Thousand Oaks (children with special needs); MANA (food bank), Mary Health (hospice) and a host of organizations through Viacom: Operation Gratitude, One Generation and The National Parks Service.  This year she hopes to join Habitat for Humanity and dedicate more time to help families in need of rebuild.
