Wendy Purnell

Wendy Purnell has over 30 years’ experience in the Cable industry and has worked in a variety of roles, including Operations, Public Affairs and Marketing. Since joining Suddenlink in 2006 she has been the Director of Operations, System Manager for Suddenlink’s cable system in Humboldt County California.   In this role she is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that achieve system and company goals including; motivating the field operations team to exceed customer growth, budgeted fiscal goals and employee and customer satisfaction. Previously she had worked with Cox Communications in the role of Director of Marketing and Public Affairs.   

 

Some of her most recent educational experience includes Emory University – Goizueta Executive Education in Marketing Excellence.   

 

Wendy is actively involved in a number of non-profit organizations including the California Cable & Telecommunications Association (CCTA) Board of Directors representing Suddenlink. Through her role with CCTA and working with local State Assemblyperson for her district he agreed to sponsor California AB 1782 to increase state penalties for malicious and willful damage to critical communications infrastructure. CCTA, public and private industry supported this legislation and it was unanimously approved by the Legislature and signed by the Governor of California in 2014.  She was been actively involved during a six year term with Hospice of Humboldt in the creation, planning, implementation and finally fundraising campaign in support of building a multi-million dollar in-patient Hospice facility and campus that recently opened. She is also on the Board of Directors for the Redwood Coast Music Festivals which supports goals of fundraising for various seniors and children’s educational music programs through a multi-day Music Festival. As part of this Suddenlink received recognition from the Humboldt County Office  of Education and City of Eureka, CA for their commitment that has allowed over 40,000 area children to attend these events and expose children to Jazz music.
