As the global leader for telecommunication education and training for technical professionals in the cable industry, SCTE understands the importance of innovation and critical thinking. Likewise, as the cable industry’s oldest and largest organization serving women professionals, WICT believes that the most successful companies are those who invest in diversity and inclusion efforts at all levels. Both SCTE and WICT agree that to maintain the same level of professionalism and technical expertise our members represent today, we have to focus on the workforce of tomorrow.

Currently, too few universities and technical schools are graduating students in STEM fields. High school students don’t have proficiency or interest in STEM programs, and the demand for STEM professionals in the U.S. is increasing faster than the supply.

SCTE and WICT are proud supporters of numerous STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education and career initiatives, including
WICT’s Tech It Out Initiative and SCTE/ISBE Cable-Tec Expo® .

STEM education will be vital to the future of our industry as we work to drive increased engineering literacy and up-and-coming innovators to create the cable networks and technologies of tomorrow.
