Letter from the President - January 2012
Letter from Jennifer Holt, Greater Chicago Chapter President

January 2012

I'm honored and excited to be your 2012 WICT Greater Chicago President.  The board and I are working to finalize a full calendar of programming that will offer you opportunities to develop as leaders, gain new insights, network with colleagues, and most importantly, have fun. Please be on the lookout for updates on the WICT Greater Chicago website, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Recently, I read a posting on LinkedIn that suggested focusing on a word for the year versus making a New Year's resolution. It explained that resolutions are based off of the past year's regrets and set you up more for failure than success. If you focus on one word to guide you through the year, you are more likely to be successful. I LOVED this idea, so I decided to Google it and found several more postings on the topic. I really liked this one written by Christine Kane -  http://christinekane.com/resolution-revolution-a-better-way-to-start-your-year/.

The article does a great job of helping you figure out what word you should focus on for the year. Right now I'm torn between two. Check out the article and pick your own word. Then, post your word on WICT Greater Chicago's website. As soon as I've finalized my word you will see mine posted there as well.

Looking forward to 2012 being a wonderful year for everyone!
