Back to School Clothing Drive 2016
On July 18, the WICT Southwest Chapter was proud to partner with the Back to School Clothing Drive to help get kids in need prepared to go back to school!
Founded in 1967, Back to School Clothing Drive has been able to provide the fundamental needs of children throughout Arizona and give them the essential supplies needed to go back to school. Clean clothes, shoes that fit and a backpack filled with school supplies were some of the items that we got to help distribute to the many children that came through the door. Throughout their three programs, Back to School Clothing drive has helped more than 25,000 children from 260+ schools in 40 school districts!

During the event, volunteers were able to act as personal shoppers and walk students around to various stations set up to provide children with new clothes and school supplies. Other volunteers helped run the various stations to make sure clothing/shoes fit correctly and inventory was stocked. After the students were done shopping they were able to pick out their own books to take home, play fun games, learn about dental hygiene and then grab a slice of pizza!
