Zabrina Mogro looks at every day of her career at Cox as a gift and a chance to learn and grow. And grow she has, from contractor to Universal Home Technician to Field Services Supervisor, where she holds a position of leadership and respect.
"Zabrina's people skills are out of this world," marveled Field Services Manager Wally Place. "She is a fast learner and lives Cox culture."
That culture – starting with its people – has been the highlight of Zabrina's time at Cox.
"Getting to meet so many intelligent, positive and authentic people and getting to work with them every day has been the most satisfying part of my career," Zabrina said.
Zabrina's dedication to her craft and the company earned her an exciting reward recently. Vice President Shawn Duncan chose her to represent Field Services as an upcoming leader at a breakfast with six top Cox executives visiting from Atlanta.
"I picked Zabrina because she is a high-potential female leader in a non-traditional field role," said Shawn. "She has led her team to high performance in most of the areas we measure."
"The breakfast was such an amazing experience," Zabrina recalled. "Getting the chance to meet Pat Esser and everyone who attended was an honor. I enjoyed meeting the amazing, diverse people that are leading with excellence across all of our groups."
"Leading with excellence" certainly describes Zabrina's tenure at Cox. As an active and enthusiastic WICT member, Zabrina is also an exemplar for other women in the industry. Her advice:
- Change is the only constant. Learn to adapt.
- Be diligent, authentic and intentional in everything you do.
- Learn your craft and give it your all.
- If you are going to do something, do it right or not at all.
- Feedback is a gift. Make the adjustment and move on.
- Be confident, transparent and ethical with every interaction and decision.
- Never let anyone tell you what you can or cannot achieve. This decision is yours to make.
Zabrina's near-term goals include maintaining positive relationships with customers both inside and outside the company. In the long-term, she wants to contribute to a successful, efficient business that can be counted on to do what it says it will do.
"And I want to be a positive example for our gender," she added.
Mission accomplished there. Zabrina is a positive example for us all.
