Greater Ohio Mentorship Program

​​​​The WICT Greater Ohio Chapter is now accepting applications for our 2015-2016 Mentorship Program. The Mentorship Program exists to help develop untapped potential, to the benefit of the individuals who participate in the program and the industry as a whole.



Our Mission:

The mission of the Mentorship Program is to make mentors available to WICT members and to assist them with their career advancement strategies.  Committed, top-level industry professionals are recruited to serve as mentors  for a six-month period.  In these one-to-one sessions, mentors provide support, guidance and career advice.


Our Philosophy:

Our philosophy is to empower women by having them think critically about themselves, their goals – personal growth and development, and career aspirations


Program Goals/Purpose:

  • One-on-one mentoring
  • Continued learning
  • New skills development
  • Improve visibility
  • Insight into the industry strategies/priorities 

​Mentee Criteria:

  • Must be a WICT member in good standing
  • Must be in current position for at least 1 year
  • Is open to any professional career level


Mentor Criteria:

  • Must be a WICT member in good standing
  • Must be in current position for at least 1 year
  • Is open to any manager career level and above
Mentor and Mentee

Commitment to the Program:

  • Complete and submit application, bio, and needs assessment which is given to the assigned mentor.
  • Mentor shall initiate contact with assigned mentee within two weeks of assignment.
  • Mentor and mentee meet face-to-face and together establish goals for future meetings. The needs assessment can be used as a guide.
  • Mentor and mentee should meet regularly face-to-face, and/or by conference call or email. Be flexible in setting meeting dates, but keep appointments as scheduled.
  • Mentor and mentee complete and return the 6-month evaluation (how are things are going) located on the WICT Greater Ohio website under the Mentorship
  • Mentor and mentee should check in from time to time with the Program Lead to advise on how things are going. Issues or concerns should be addressed as we want to make sure that this is a valuable relationship for everyone and want to provide assistance as necessary.

Application/Registration Timeline:

January – April: Mentor and mentee recruitment for the Summer/Fall/Winter
June: Mentor applications selection process .  All interested applicants should complete the form below and submit back in to our Mentorship chair, Jeanette Richardson at by July 15, 2015.
