About Jin Zhou
Jin has been an active member of WICT since 2012 and is currently a Staff QA Engineer of the ARRIS SI Valid & Device Team at Comcast P&E Labs, continuing her journey in Hardware Quality Assurance that she started in 2016. She focuses on the hardware safety, energy efficiency, and special-field needs of vendor products before and after massive deployment on Comcast market. Together with her colleagues, she qualifies and certifies products for hardware industry standards as well as Comcast specifications. Her job also covers root-cause analysis of field issues, which require knowledge across the fields of hardware, software, and operation.

Jin started her career in the cable industry in 1998 when she joined General Instrument as a headend software engineer. In 2009, she joined Comcast's TQM team, taking a lead testing role for Comcast's 1st hybrid set top box, Barcelona. With her hands-on experience and software background, she became one of the few initiators of Comcast's VCPE (Video Customer Procurement Equipment) project working seamlessly with multiple internal and external teams to create a unique operation-focused test set on video features. This project was later implemented to Comcast QA across different projects and products to upgrade test ability to align Comcast video products with FCC regulation. She was the TQM QA Lead Engineer for X1 testing, and coordinated test efforts on the X1 project across T&P TQM (QA) test teams, both on- and off-shore, on different vendor devices as the gate for massive field deployment. Jin prioritized test requests for a fast-paced regression test cycle without losing the big picture of full coverage. She worked closely with the Comcast Legal Department and in-life device PE to ensure that the next generation product met FCC requirements. Jin joined the ARRIS team in early 2017.

Jin holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai University in China as well as a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. She has also received Project Management credit from Penn State University.
