Washington, DC – Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) announced today that Michael K. Powell, President and CEO of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA), will address the audience on opening night of its Senior Executive Summit (SES) at Stanford University in Palo Alto.

SES, presented in partnership with the Stanford Graduate School of Business, is the only leadership development program designed exclusively for cable’s highest ranking women. This year’s Summit will take place March 13-17.

"We are pleased and honored to have Michael Powell share his unique perspectives with this select group of cable leaders," said Maria E. Brennan, CAE, WICT’s President and CEO. "Leading NCTA during a period of notable change in our industry, Michael commands a broad understanding of the landscape and the opportunities that exist during this period of our evolution. Our audience will benefit from his experienced and distinctive viewpoint."

The WICT Senior Executive Summit is an invitation-only, master-class program. The research-based curriculum allows participants to use hard data and case studies to hone their leadership skills and cultivate new business strategies. The Walter Kaitz Foundation provides two scholarships to qualifying candidates of the program.

Before helming NCTA, Michael Powell was Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from 2001 to 2005 and a member of the FCC for eight years. He began his tenure as President and CEO of the NCTA on April 25, 2011.
