Developing women leaders is our mission. As the oldest and largest organization serving women professionals in cable and telecommunications, Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) is at the forefront of an industry undergoing constant change. Since its founding in 1979, WICT has remained steadfast in its resolve to advance the position and influence of women through proven leadership programs and services at both the national and local level.

Our Chapter

The Great Lakes Chapter serving Michigan and Indiana has a diverse membership base from all facets of the industry including not only sales and marketing, finance, programming, technical and HR, but many more. Our Chapter focuses on education, mentoring and building strong leadership skills for women, and men, in the cable and telecommunications industry. We provide updates to the industry to keep our leaders abreast of changes and new trends.

    WICT’s Great Lakes Chapter brings quality, local events to Michigan and Indiana and provides invaluable opportunities to network with industry leaders, peers and other professionals. Networking with women leaders who share the same concerns, goals, and experiences helps build the all-important professional relationships that are key to career development and advancement.

    Local Chapter programs provide educational and development opportunities that keep members informed on new developments and cutting edge trends, helping to advance the position of women in the industry.  Our program “Communicate, Inspire, Connect” is a great example of professional development in the area of public speaking.

    The Great Lakes Chapter is always interested in industry professionals who want to be involved in the local chapter.    Volunteers who would like to assist at local events & programming, volunteer for Chapter committees, or offer other levels of involvement are welcome and encouraged!  Whether you have a little or a lot of time, you’ll find that participation in the local WICT Chapter programs helps develop leadership skills and provide additional career opportunities not always achieved through your day-to-day job responsibilities.
